Wow! It has been a LONG time since I’ve posted any new content. I’ve reblogged sporadically, but haven’t come up with any new material in a long time. Thanks to Rami Ungar, who nominated me to participate in the Ten Day Book Challenge, I’ve got something fun to post for the next ten days!
What is the Ten Day Book Challenge? Here’s how it works:
- Thank whoever nominated you with big, bold print. If they have a blog, link to the post where you got tagged there.
- Explain the rules.
- Post the cover of a book that was influential on you or that you love dearly.
- Explain why (because I don’t see the point of just posting a picture of a book cover without an explanation. That goes for Facebook as well as blogs).
- Tag someone else to do the challenge, and let them know they’ve been tagged.
Salem’s Lot was one of the first books I read by Stephen King. I was in the eighth grade when I started sneaking books off my mom’s bookshelf. Somehow, I knew she wouldn’t approve of me reading horror, so I had to be stealthy! Salem’s Lot started my love affair with horror and with vampires (the scary kind, of course).
Hmmm, I’m not sure who to tag. I’m kind of late to the game on this challenge; I’ve already seen many of my friends participating in this. Instead of tagging a friend, I think I’ll go against the rules and open this up for anyone who would like to participate. If you decide to take the Ten Day Book Challenge, please leave a link to your post in the comment section so I can stop by and visit your blog or Facebook post.
